Headley Grange: Led Zepplin Recorded in a HAUNTED Recording Studio?

Headley Grange: Led Zepplin Recorded in a HAUNTED Recording Studio?

One of the coolest recording studios in all of Rock-n-Roll history is also the most HAUNTED.

What is Headley Grange? Constructed in 1795 as the “Headley House of Industry”, the home and its surrounding acreage located in Hampshire, England was used as a workhouse for orphans, elders, illegitimate children, and the poor. It was eventually converted into a private residence, an art school, and a recording studio. Led Zeppelin used Headley Grange as their primary recording studio for the albums Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Graffiti. The Headley Grange recording studio was also host to Fleetwood Mac, Bad Company, Genesis, The Pretty Things, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Ian Dury, Clover, and Elvis Costello. Many of the bands that recorded at Headley Grange recount strange paranormal activity from creaking noises, moving furniture, and apparitions walking the grounds of this almost 250 year old estate. Today the home is a private residence and does not offer tours.

The TOP Most Haunted Hotels in New Orleans

The TOP Most Haunted Hotels in New Orleans

I moved to New Orleans almost two years ago. Ever since I moved to the city, people are always asking me for advice on what to do, where to eat, and where to stay. New Orleans has the reputation of being one of, if not THE MOST haunted cities in America. It is no surprise given this town’s tumultuous past. Disease, natural disaster, and war have plagued this city in its over three hundred year old history. I don’t think it’s crazy to assume that maybe some of the victims of these events have come back from the dead to revisit The Crescent City. Below, I’m going to list the top most haunted hotels in New Orleans that you can stay at during your next visit to the Big Easy.

The Myrtles Plantation, Haunted or Hoax: My Experience at THE MOST HAUNTED HOME IN LOUISIANA

The Myrtles Plantation, Haunted or Hoax: My Experience at THE MOST HAUNTED HOME IN LOUISIANA

I have been to The Myrtles Plantation three times in the past two years. The Myrtles Plantation is a quick day trip from New Orleans and is a great way to spend a Saturday. I have been on three tours of the property; two daytime tours and one evening ghost tour. While I have not seen any full body apparitions or the famous “Chloe” ghost, I have witnessed a few unexplainable events in the home. Recently, people have begun to question the validity of the haunted claims made by the tour guides of The Myrtles Plantation. While I ultimately believe the home to be haunted, I do think some of the stories stretch the truth of what is historically accurate. But, hey! What good ghost story doesn’t….

“Who Moved The Ironing Board?”: Did My Deceased Great Grandmother Possess Me???

This might not be your typical ghost story. When I was a child, my deceased great grandmother possessed me. No, not like the movie The Exorcist. My body wasn’t contorted into strange positions and I wasn’t vomiting up bile. But, some weird things did occur. I was three years old when this happened and too young to remember. These events were told to me by my mother and grandmother who witnessed it firsthand. You as the reader can decide for yourself what occurred the first time I was brought to my great grandmother’s home.

Zak Bagans. Love him or hate him, the Ghost Adventures front man has become the expert of all things paranormal. In 2018, he opened Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum: an 11,000 square foot mansion featuring haunted, possessed, and downright strange objects that he has collected during his career as a paranormal investigator. The museum is open daily for tours, but before entering you’ll have to sign a waiver stating that Zak and his employees are not responsible for anything that may happen to you during or after your visit. This may sound silly, but considering visitors faint, fall over, get scratched, and become ill on a pretty frequent basis, the museum can’t be too cautious.
